The main page says "Open Source software, This is a list of some useful programs in Linux. Here you can find free alternatives to commercial programs. " but I think clarification is necessary. Is this a list of "Free Software" (as defined by the FSF), freeware (including Opera), or just Linux alternatives to Windows (including NeroLinux)?--Darrelljon 14:50, 4 November 2007 (EET)

Linux has so many alternatives that what becomes difficult is which solution to use... Is there any site that has comparisions on the features of each alternative? Like a chart with feature comparison, with notes, perhaps giving the chance to the user adjust the weights on the features it likes more? -- Lfsrteixeira 10:00, 6 march 2007
