How to find out which version of Ubuntu you're using
Open the command terminal and type:
lsb_release -a
How to find out which kernel you are using
uname -a
Newer Versions of Ubuntu
- Ubuntu has a six month release cycle, with releases in April and October.
- Raring Ringtail (13.04) was released in April 2013 and will be supported until December 2013.
- Quantal Quetzal (12.10) was released in October 2012 and will be supported until April 2014.
Older Versions of Ubuntu
- Lucid Lynx (10.04 LTS) (Server support (only) until April 2015)
- Oneiric Ocelot (11.10) (no longer supported)
- Natty Narwhal (11.04) (no longer supported)
- Maverick Meerkat (10.10) (no longer supported)
- Karmic Koala (9.10) (no longer supported)
- Jaunty Jackalope (9.04) (no longer supported)
- Hardy Heron (8.04 LTS) (no longer supported)
- Dapper Drake (6.06 LTS) (no longer supported)
